“I named this wine to honor the men who continue to inspire me. Leading by example, my father George taught me the value of hard work and persistence. These were traits he inherited from his own father and uncle, who led the family to Napa all those generations ago, carving out a future for generations that followed. No stranger to hard work himself, my grandfather Thomas was born over the hill in Sonoma County. He not only survived The Great Depression and war, but saw to it that his family prospered, including my mother, Mary Ann. I am honored to be named after all these men. ” – Tom Gamble
The G. Thomas Cabernet Sauvignon is made in homage to Tom’s predecessors and comes from distinct Oakville terroirs, including our Family Home and Cairo vineyards. Each fruit source adds its own personality to the finished wine, with fruit reserved from our best Oakville vineyard blocks. Together the blocks are co-fermented prior to aging. Finally, the cooperage selected for our 20-month aging process is specially chosen to showcase the powerful personality of G. Thomas, reminiscent of Tom’s forebears.
